Robo Pit
is a robot fighting game released in 1996 for PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The game was developed by Altron and published by Kokopeli Digital Studios outside Japan. A sequel, ''Robo Pit 2'', was released in Japan on PlayStation in 1997. It was also released in Europe and North America in 2003. The rules of ''Robo Pit'' is to build a robot and then try to fight your way to the top in arenas that are square in shape. There are many different types of arenas and the time of day can vary. As you fight your way to the top there are bosses that you will fight along the way. There are various types of weapons which include The Axe, Lips, Sword, Missile and Claws as well as many more. There are also body part (Head, Body, and Legs) that have different stats that affect your bot's performance. Although all body part are available from the start, the only way to unlock more weapons is to fight more robot enemies. ==Reception== Robo Pit have received mixed reception. IGN found the PlayStation version passable, saying, "The graphics are a little plain, especially the combat fields, but the robot design is interesting and usually pretty weird - there's everything from crab robots to Doraemon-like guys. The one-player mode tends to get a little monotonous, what with 100 robots to fight, but the two-player mode is where Robo Pit really shines. It's your standard split screen fare, and while this isn't too distracting, a link option would've been nice."〔
